A tranquil oasis where art, nature and music meet
Nestled in the Andalusian mountains, just north of Almuñécar, you will find Kitty Harri’s Sculpture Garden, a unique art environment and music experience. The two acre garden, set in the mountains with stunning views across the Valle Tropical, allows you to enjoy a wide variety of artworks whilst strolling through the botanical gardens. Surrounded by exotic trees and shrubs you can view over 160 sculptures by Kitty and other international artists, many of which are for sale. Twice a month, on Open Sundays, live Classical Chamber Music is performed by Nick and visiting musicians. The atmosphere evokes pure enjoyment and relaxation. The garden offers places to both walk around and sit in the sun or shade. A terrace area and pool exists in the heart of the garden where you can enjoy a drink and nibbles, listen to the classical music and appreciate the mountains as they drop down through the lush valley towards the sea.
About Kitty and Nick
Swedish born Kitty Harri is an award winning sculptor and bestselling author, writing as Kitty Sewell. Together with her partner Nick an engineer and musician, they have created a unique art and music experience that now attracts hundreds of visitors each month. A labour of love, the sculpture garden has taken years to create and continues to grow and change as new sculptures are created and donated on a regular basis.
When to visit
Open every 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 10am – 4pm. You can enjoy the gardens whilst listening to live Classical Chamber Music, mostly Baroque (from the likes of Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann, Loeillet and more), performed by Nick on his harpsichord together with other talented local and visiting musicians. The garden is also open to private parties, tours and groups by appointment. Contact Kitty and Nick to arrange a visit.
Artists-in-residence and workshops
Kitty and Nick invite artists, sculptors, wood carvers, stone carvers, mosaic and glass artists to create a work of art for the Garden. Artists from around the world come and stay for two or three weeks as “artist in residence”, to make a piece of work for the sculpture garden and also exchange new techniques, ideas and share inspiration. Regular workshops are also hosted, a great opportunity to learn a new craft. Past workshops have included Mosaic and Mosaic Table Workshops, Creative Writing Workshops, Ceramic Workshops and Concrete Sculpting Workshops.
