Hello and welcome to the August edition of Soltalk. We are pleased to say that we have all your regular features right here for your reading pleasure so get yourself a cold beverage of your choice, sit down and enjoy!

Well elsewhere the pandemic seems to have been surpassed by the PINGdemic! Yes that’s right. According to the Guardian, “England is facing weeks of disruption to bin collection, transport and food supply due to staff self-isolating, companies and councils have warned, amid concerns the 16 August date to lift quarantine for the double-vaccinated could be delayed.” So much so that many businesses are applying for exemption for their workers and the ability to test instead… You couldn’t make it up! Surely a bit of common sense would have come up with that solution a while ago.

And as usual “Verano en los Cangrejos” with a program of evening events in the square, will begin on July 31, and last until September 15, in the Plaza Fábrica de los Cangrejos (at the bottom of calle Malaga). All performances will begin at 10pm, except on Sunday, which will be at 9pm. It will consist of concerts of classical, jazz and contemporary music, flamenco performances, theatre shows, magic, summer cinema and children’s festivals. It is requested that those attending wear masks and maintain a safe distance from others. Something for everyone and all free!

Enjoy August, take it easy in the heat, and stay hydrated!
