Goodbye hot and sticky August and Hello to the September edition of Soltalk! Have you noticed weird gaps between cars that take you a moment to remember what they are? Oh yes parking spaces! They were rarely seen last month! Well I love to moan about being too hot, etc. and always look forward to September for being a bit cooler but still summer. Maybe it will even be cool enough for me to venture to the beach!
Feel like a trip into Málaga this month for a bit of culture? A guest exhibition at the Picasso Museum starts on September 1st – Andy Warhol. Arguably almost as influential as Picasso himself, his art presaged the consumer society and throwaway culture. The concept of pop art was largely generated by him and his contemporaries and its iconic power should not be underestimated. A real treat!
Or perhaps you fancy a day out in Gibraltar now the weather is cooling down? See our Essential Information section on page 58 as two of our clubs have Gibraltar trips this month: The International Club on September 19 followed by Lux Mundi on September 20. It’s a great opportunity to get out and about and either do some sightseeing or visit a few British shops such as Marks and Spencers, and Morrisons. Don’t forget your shopping trolley! There are more ideas for things to do throughout the magazine, and especially our Top Things to Do feature on page 22.
Enjoy the fabulous month of September, and this issue!
