Hello and welcome to the September edition of Soltalk. Usually at this time of year we are saying goodbye to hoards of tourists and hello to the many long term winter visitors – but what will this month bring? I can only sympathise with all those hopefuls playing Tourism Roulette with the quarantine changes which happen seemingly at the last minute!

We have noticeably more things going on this month though so that’s a very good sign. This has brought about the return of our Top Things to Do feature on page 22 which was missing during the lockdown months.

Nerja seems to attract more than its fair share of creative people with one ex-resident (Steven Primrose-Smith) and one current resident (Heidi Williams) launching books this month. See pages 37 and 20 respectively for more details.

One change in my life since the lockdown is that I switched from going to the gym to do pilates to using online classes with the added benefit of saving the time it took to get there, and not having to be on time for the class! If you’ve never tried it do have a look at our Wellbeing page this month, it might be just what you need.

In the meantime September is still a month for enjoying hopefully less heat, less crowds and quieter beaches, but let’s hope for the poor long suffering businesses that it is not too quiet.

We hope you enjoy September, and this issue of Soltalk.
