The 3,700 square metre site on the bank of Chillar river is presently used as a car park, but work will soon start to transform it ready for the construction phase which is will be financed by the regional health service. The six month preparation phase will see the roundabout at the junction of calles Puente Viejo and Ingenio enlarged, with a new road round around the perimeter of the site which will include a parking area.
Major José Alberto Armijo said the project is part of the extraordinary municipal plan to create local jobs following the Coronavirus pandemic. It was supported by all political groups at the town hall with the exception of the socialist PSOE.
