Welcome to February the month for romantics! Yes I am sure you are all looking forward to Valentines day on February 14th. If you’re looking for a great range of Valentines cards you’ll find them at Smiffs book and card shop, see page 41 for details. And of course the 2024 Nerja Carnival will be held from February 8 to 11 inclusive, and the Local Ayuntamiento has already approved the bases of the different contests that will take place, according to the motion presented by Mayor José Alberto Armijo, and the Councilor for Popular Traditions, Elena Gálvez.

The contests will be the children’s costume contest which will take place on February 9; the costumes for the grand parade, which will be held on February 10, and the costumes for the burial of the sardine, which will take place on February 11.
